got aerith to eat a small cricket! i'm always so happy when my girls eat, relief just floods through me the minute they have hold of the prey gjkdfgjkfgj. she did her little happy dance as she munched on it, spinning in slow circles. i love how she does that where i can see because alexia usually just sits there or just drags her prey back to her den. which is fine, i don't like when people watch me eat either gjkfdgjkfg. so it's a treat having two spiders that have totally different "personalities". aerith is much more skittish than alexia, who is very slow moving and calm. aerith is FAST and jesus christ she can jump. usually when i have food for her i look to see where she is and if shes in a good spot for feeding, i get her cricket ready and by the time i'm opening her door she's already gone and hidden in the foliage of her enclosure. she's actually escaped on me twice since i've gotten her, that's how fast she is fkghfdkjghfdkjg. thankfully, shes very good about letting me scoop her up with a nearby cup i always keep handy because of how fast she is. i'm curious as to how much faster she will grow in comparison to alexia. they're both still young but since alexia molted relatively recently i'm not expecting another molt from her for a bit. i think aerith is a faster grower so i can't wait to keep track of how often she molts in comparison.

i got aerith quite a few months ago and meant to make a log ages ago but. here we are. i named her aerith bc of her little pink toes and tbh i'm actually not quite sure if she's actually a girl but idrc. her name will be aerith either way. i bought her from the store i work at so i'd been taking care of her for a bit and actually got her the day after she molted! i was even able to take her molt home with me, so that's cool. She's a pretty good eater and loves her crickets! She's still pretty young and has her juvenile coloring so i'm really excited to watch her grow! she's very jumpy and i'm always impressed by how fast she moves. i got her some crickets yesterday and she has yet to accept one from me yet but i'll be sure to update when she does...
